Psychotherapy
The aim of psychotherapy is to increase your wellbeing and to strengthen your capacity to make empowering choices in life.
At AIH, only our advanced students of the Master of Psychotherapy programme provide this service. They are supervised each week by teaching staff from the Department of Psychotherapy.

Adult psychotherapy
Psychotherapy helps you examine your life and life contexts (for example, backgrounds), so that you have a better understanding of yourself and can make and maintain meaningful changes in your life. We respect your goals and values while aiming to help you improve your self- esteem, quality of life and relationships or heal the impact of challenging life experiences.
Child and adolescent psychotherapy
Services offered at the AIH child and adolescent psychotherapy clinic include:
- Needs assessment
- Treatment planning
- Long-term and short-term psychotherapy for children and adolescents (4-19 years old)
In consultation with families, parents and/or caregivers may be included in the treatment as appropriate. Self-referrals are acceptable as well as referrals from GPs, mental health services, schools, and other community agencies, where applicable.
